Vintage

One of my favorite pastimes is doing searches on the Met's Costume Institute website. It's always amazing what you can find just by typing "shoes" or "coat". You can also search by designer name. Either way you're bound to unearth a myriad of brilliant pieces from prior epochs. Below are some of my favorite items, mixed and matched with some modern accoutrements.

Above: Wooden wedges, vintage, 1972; Evening jacket, vintage, 1923; Purple gloves, vintage Hermès, 1930s. Accessories (left to right): Pamela Love claw necklace; Unearthen crystal necklace.

Above (clockwise from bottom right): Charles Jourdan boots, 1973; Roger Vivier evening shoes, 1958; Andrea Pfister boots, 1990; Roger Vivier Evening shoes, 1960; Flower power heels, 1971.

Above: Cream-colored jacket, vintage, 1810; Black jacket, vintage, 1893. Accessories (from top): Alexis Mabille rose bow; Erin Wasson for RVCA ring; Elke Kramer ring; Pamela Love bear ring.

These are just a few of my favorites. Expect more; I have plenty of images stashed on my desktop and not enough time to compile them into an actual post.
